The Florida Keys are one of the best places to sight fish for some of the elusive flats species such as tarpon, bonefish and permit. Will Benson takes Jose in search of those sought-after species with a fly rod.
4. Key West Shimano Color Change Sailfish
Jose Wejebe and the Spanish Fly crew continue in Key West, testing out new high performance gear for Shimano. They started in Key West harbor with big tarpon, but now take the new Terez rods out fishing the open ocean where a phenomenon called the color change lines up an edge that big sailfish travel along.

In this two part series, the Spanish Fly crew travels to the islands of Isla Secas in Panama to meet up with old friend Carter 'Big Boy' Andrews at his new fishing operation. With some dramatic inshore cubera action and a big blue marlin surprise offshore, the old friends are back to doing what they do best, exploring new waters.

In this two part series, the Spanish Fly crew travels to the islands of Isla Secas in Panama to meet up with old friend Carter 'Big Boy' Andrews at his new fishing operation. With some dramatic inshore cubera action and a big blue marlin surprise offshore, the old friends are back to doing what they do best, exploring new waters.
7. Sandwich, Massachussettes Striped Bass
The Spanish Fly crew heads north to the nutrient rich waters of Massachusetts, where billions of shrimp and baitfish draw tons of big ferocious striped bass. The mission is simple: hunt the birds, find the action, and get right in the middle of the feed for over the top action!
8. Sandwich, Massachussettes Bluefin Tuna
Catching 200+lbs fish on a spinning rod seems a bit far fetched, but Terry Nugent and Jeff Brodeur from Sandwich, MA have been catching bluefin tuna of that size regularly. Even more impressive is the fact that this fishery is all sight fishing, casting to feeding fish on the surface with top water lures. Incredible visual action chasing birds, bait, and tuna!
9. Key West Flats Wind
Jose Wejebe and IGFA artist and photographer Adrian Gray set out to capture a scene on the beautiful flats of the Florida Keys when unexpected high winds call for a change in plan. Off the water, Jose offers Adrian a new perspective for his art when they hop in the plane for the colorful aerial experience of the Florida Keys.

Jose Wejebe and crew travel to the 400 year old town of Campeche, Mexico in search of a pristine nursery for baby tarpon where the rivers and streams of the Yucutan dump into the Gulf of Mexico. Off the water, ancient Mayan ruins are just the start of the rich history and culture of Campeche.

Jose Wejebe and crew load the Spanish Fly on a trailer and head up the road to visit friends along the gulf coast With stops in Pensacola, Mississippi, and Louisiana Jose back tracks the oil spill to get a boots on the ground assessment of the fishery in the wake of the disaster.
