The film was compiled from outtakes shot during the making of the third film and released in weekly installments on Joost from April 1 through June 13, 2011. The first trailer was originally released online on January 27, 2011, and the feature-length movie was released on Blu-ray and DVD on June 14, 2011, less than a week before Ryan Dunn's death.
