Olavo Fernandes

Straight out of Goiás, Olavo Fernandes is a filmmaker with a degree in Cinema and Audiovisual from UFMT (Federal University of Mato Grosso). Working as video editor since 2019, he also acts in production, cinematography, camera assistance, original score, direction and writter in several productions. By now, he is the author of three short films: Chimeric Desire to Belog to Another World (A Quimérica Vontade de Pertencer a Outro Mundo, 2020), The Untamed Uprising of the Killer Strawberries (A Indômita Revolta dos Morangos Assassinos, 2022) and Estelar (2024). Awarded and exhibited in the five regions of Brazil, Europe and North America.

His works are usually original genre stories, mainly horror and trash cinema, generally elaborating social commentary with acid humor. Always focusing in character study through the audiovisual language.
