The Prisoner of Zenda
A colourfully sumptuous historical romp with Stewart Granger portraying both the hapless King and his courageous cousin facing threats from his treacherous half-brother Robert Douglas and his evil sidekick played with his tongue well in his cheek by a wonderfully mischievous James Mason. Deborah Kerr is suitably elegant and poised as the Princess. This is not as enjoyable as the earlier 1937 version - more extravagance and, of course, in Technicolour, but not quite the humour or menace. Still great to watch though.
